Behavioral Science Exploration

Catalog description

This course offers an introduction to the principles of behavioral science and their application to problems facing contemporary societies (e.g., human rights, culture changes, homelessness, poverty, discrimination, crime, mental health issues, public health, racism, education, juvenile delinquency, substance abuse, etc.) through the fields of criminology, psychology, and social work. Students will learn how behavioral scientists analyze human behavior and how these analyses are used to inform interventions. Students will also learn about careers in the behavioral sciences and how to pursue them. This course will focus on the three major approaches: Criminology, Psychology, and Social Work. This course is recommended in the first semester of the Behavioral Sciences degree program.
