Overview of industry tests performed to characterize the properties and performance characteristics of plastic and polymeric materials. Course work includes preparing and conditioning test specimens as well as conducting several physical, mechanical, rheological, electrical, thermal, flammability, optical, and environmental tests. Methods for determining the chemical composition of plastic materials and polymer molecular morphology are studied. Fall Only.
