Professional Role Development for Advanced Nursing Practice

Catalog description

Exploration of advanced nursing practice roles within current healthcare systems. Emphasis on preparing professional nurses to assume leadership roles within interprofessional teams and various healthcare settings to effectively implement change. Topics include leadership and management, interprofessional collaboration and teamwork, patient advocacy, civility, nurse-client relationships, professional standards of practice, and role delineation. Students will be required to spend eight hours shadowing a master’s prepared nurse in a healthcare facility of their choice.
