Catalog description

First of two sequenced pharmacology courses, providing a foundational introduction to key pharmacological concepts. Designed to build upon a knowledge base of chemistry, anatomy and physiology, physical assessment, and the nursing process. Examination and application of essential pharmacological concepts including pharmacodynamics and pharmacokinetics. Focus on selected drug categories with emphasis on therapeutic actions, arrays of drug responses, key drug considerations, and relevant ethical and legal aspects incorporated across the lifespan. Knowledge developed serves as a platform for continued expansion of pharmacological understanding.
