Topics include systems of linear equations, polynomial factoring and equations, rational expressions and equations, radical expressions, quadratic equations, and application problems. Emphasis on math study skills. Technology is used to enhance thinking and understanding, to solve problems, and to judge/verify results. Verbal, numerical, graphical, and symbolic approaches assist in the discovery and communication of mathematical concepts. Course does not satisfy any quantitative thinking core foundation (MTH) requirement regardless of academic major; however, it can be used to satisfy an open elective (OEA) or an open exploration elective (OEE) requirement. A grade of ‘C’ or higher is required to advance to MTH181.
