Catalog description

Preparation for MTH 011 or MTH 005. Review of fundamental arithmetic concepts and skills, with a focus on problem solving and an introduction to algebraic representation. Topics include arithmetic operations with whole numbers, fractions and decimals, percents, ratios and proportions, the English System of measurement, geometry, and an introduction to solving and graphing linear algebraic equations. Technology is used to enhance thinking and understanding, to solve problems, and to judge/verify results. Course does not satisfy any course or elective requirement, regardless of academic major.
