GEN 326
Design for Manufacturability I
Pennsylvania College of Technology · UGRD · Fall 2026
Catalog description
Introduction to the theory and application of design of industrial products and manufacturing systems. Emphasis on design considerations for components made by three-axis CNC milling, two-axis CNC turning, casting and molding, and additive manufacturing. Exploration of design for assembly and design for disassembly concepts. Product development management strategies, including concurrent engineering and simultaneous product/process design, are utilized. Advanced techniques in parametric modeling software are used to develop designs and analyze parts. Design theory is reinforced through hands-on production of physical parts. Spring Only.
