Introduction to the essential elements of Spanish language with emphasis on oral communication, cultural differences inherent to the language, and the manner in which those differences are expressed in conversational situations. Fundamental structures necessary for conversing about typical situations are learned and practiced while discussing grammatical differences between Spanish and English as well as between different dialects of Spanish. General conversational topics explore the Hispanic expressions of time, selfhood, family, social structures, gender, location, emotion, and destination. Intended for students with no language experience or for students who have had up to two years of Spanish instruction more than two years ago.
