Catalog description

Study of specialized surgical procedures as they pertain to the surgical technologist. Emphasis on medical terminology, pathology, anatomical structures, basic and specialized surgical instruments, supplies, and medications. Skills developed include establishing the surgical suite and sterile field, draping, and patient positioning. Introduction to surgical robotics and interventional radiology. Surgical specialties include obstetrics and gynecology, labor and delivery, genitourinary, plastic and reconstructive, and otorhinolaryngologic. Fall Only.
