Catalog description

Detailed study of general surgical procedures. Exploration of relevant anatomy, physiology, and pathology, focusing on the indications, expected outcomes, and potential complications of various procedures. Topics include patient positioning, wound closure techniques, application of surgical dressings, and phases of wound healing. Discussion also includes wound closure techniques related to sutures, needles, surgical staplers, and other accessory devices. Prior knowledge of medical terminology, specific anatomical structures, surgical instruments, supplies, and medications is integrated and reinforced from the surgical technologist's perspective.
