Historical milestones in the development, manufacturing, and increased availability to the public of the American automobile over the last 100 years. Emphasis on the historical, political, and economic impacts on society. Topics include, but are not limited to, the historical impact of the automobile's development on society and on the economy as well as the manufacturing of automobiles and its impact on culture, civil society, the legal system, the political system, workforce migration, urbanization, corporate development, wartime activities, the interstate system, and the Americanization of other countries. Fall Only.
