Canine Functional Musculoskeletal Anatomy

Catalog description

This elective course for third- and fourth-year veterinary students bridges foundational anatomy education with clinical application, focusing on evaluating, diagnosing, and treating canine musculoskeletal conditions. Students will integrate dissection, static and dynamic examinations, and diagnostic imaging to simultaneously learn normal and pathological anatomy. A combination of lectures and hands-on laboratories will develop skills in visual assessment, palpation, imaging and patient handling techniques. The course culminates with clinical case studies, where students will formulate diagnoses and create treatment plans, including home exercise programs.
