A dissertation is an independent work of scholarship that explores a topic of expertise in depth. Ideally, it can be disseminated in the academic literature to advance the body of knowledge in a given area. This workshop is designed to consider the various types of studies that can be used for the dissertation and how to complete it in the next three years. It will also cover the dissertation team and how to select a chair that will help you cross the finish line. Finally the parts of the proposal will be addressed, with some detail given to the literature review and the place of systematic reviews within that. The course is restricted to Doctorate in Clinical Social Work (DSW) students.
