Catalog description

This seminar begins by mapping out some of the principal features of inequality in the US educational system. It ends by examining the theory and practice of creative writing education , with an emphasis on how to use storytelling as a tool to empower children of all socioeconomic backgrounds. We connect the two by examining opportunities for achieving systemic educational reform and overcoming pedagogical, bureaucratic, and political obstacles to change.
