This course addresses the question: What does it mean to live a good life? Topics may include the following: Does living morally conflict with living happily? How should we think about character development in a well-lived life? What role do relationships and belonging—with romantic partners, family, friends—play in a good life? What does it mean to succeed and to fail? How should we think about the role and nature of education, work, and leisure in our lives? How does one’s social or political context influence one’s ability to live well?
