This doctoral-level nursing course delves into the evaluation of health policy, emphasizing practical applications in population health and healthcare economics. Students will critically analyze contemporary health policy frameworks and seek to understand the economic implications of health policies on diverse populations. The course covers essential topics such as the role of social determinants of health, historical and ethical considerations in policy development, and strategies for effective advocacy and policymaking. This course aims to cultivate informed, ethical leaders in nursing and health policy who are equipped to address complex health challenges and drive positive change in the healthcare landscape. This course complements the DNP project courses by introducing skills crucial to the completion of the DNP scholarly project.
