Catalog description

Advanced Nursing Leadership provides a framework for critically examining concepts of nursing leadership within the context of the individual, the interprofessional team, and the healthcare environment. It encourages students to apply strategies for leading diverse teams with a focus on equity-minded nursing, ethical practice, and advanced communication skills. Students will explore relationship-building with partners at all levels of influence, considering both direct leadership and methods to promote professional growth in others. Business planning, entrepreneurial, and intrapreneurial principles will be introduced, equipping students to develop strategic plans and initiatives that align with organizational goals and drive sustainable change. Additionally, students will examine the nurse leader’s role in shaping organizational culture and creating agile, inclusive, and innovative practice environments across health systems and professional organizations.
