Catalog description

Midwives provide gynecologic care from adolescence throughout the lifespan and prenatal care to all individuals who seek midwifery care, inclusive of all gender identities and sexual orientations. Midwifery care includes health promotion, disease prevention, risk assessment and management, and individualized wellness education and counseling with a special focus on health inequities and the impact of structural racism. Students in this course learn to apply the Midwifery Model of Care to address common gynecologic health concerns and prenatal care in the ambulatory setting.
