Professional Identity and Leadership Role for Advanced Nursing Practice

This course is designed to deepen the professional identity and leadership capabilities for advanced nursing practice, with a focus on the unique responsibilities and accountabilities of the Nurse Practitioner role. Students will engage in critical analysis of leadership theories, ethical and frameworks, and evidence-based strategies for leading change. Emphasis is placed on reflective practice, emotional intelligence, and structured self-assessment tools to foster personal growth and leadership effectiveness. Special focus is given to leading in times of crisis, including the application of just culture principles and emergency preparedness strategies. Learners will also explore how to foster a culture of well-being and psychological safety, positioning themselves to influence organizational culture and promote sustainable, high-performing healthcare teams.
