Catalog description

Third of three-course series building knowledge, skills, and attitudes related to the assessment, diagnosis and management of common diseases among acutely ill and/or medically complex adults. The epidemiology, patient presentation, differential diagnoses, diagnostic evaluation, and evidence-based management of these diseases will be presented by content experts. Students will build on their diagnostic reasoning and clinical decision-making skills through increasingly complex patient scenarios, including care of medically and socially vulnerable patients. At the end of the course students will be able to integrate knowledge of acute and medically complex illnesses with diagnostic reasoning and critical thinking in patient centered assessment, diagnosis, and management.
