Catalog description

This course utilizes a clinical framework to explore commonly encountered cancers. Students critically examine specific cancers with respect to prevention and screening, diagnosis and staging, evidence-based treatment, and follow-up care. Students systematically analyze clinical data and contemporary evidence to diagnose and manage cancer related symptoms and complications of cancer therapies. Clinical scenarios are employed within the context of complex histories, sociocultural influences, and age and gender specific variations to develop individualized cancer management plans. Political, economic, and social issues as applicable to cancer care are also explored.
