Pediatric Primary Care Nurse Practitioner: Clinical III

Catalog description

This last of three clinical courses allows hands-on immersive experiences for NP students to critically evaluate chronic, developmental, and behavioral needs of pediatric primary care patients and families. Through 250 hours of supervised clinical practice and structured seminars, students apply concepts to deliver comprehensive, family-centered care for infants, children, and adolescents with chronic, behavioral, and developmental health needs. Emphasis is placed on advanced health assessment, diagnostic reasoning, and evidence-based management of complex conditions. Students will refine therapeutic communication skills, coordinate care across interprofessional teams, and integrate health equity principles into practice. Seminar sessions foster clinical reflection, peer case analysis, and leadership development. By the end of the course, students will demonstrate readiness for independent advanced practice.
