Catalog description

This final didactic course prepares Pediatric Primary Care Nurse Practitioner students to deliver comprehensive, family-centered care for infants, children, and adolescents with chronic, behavioral, and developmental health needs. Students will refine advanced clinical reasoning and assessment skills, apply evidence-based decision-making, and strengthen therapeutic communication to support culturally responsive care. Emphasis is placed on leadership, health equity advocacy, and effective collaboration within interprofessional teams. Through formative assessments, case-based discussions, and practical applications, students will integrate essentials skills in informatics and quality improvement for pediatric primary care. The course culminates in a summative capstone experience.
