This introductory clinical practicum prepares Pediatric Nurse Practitioner students to deliver family-centered, well-child care across all pediatric stages. Through 250 hours of supervised clinical practice and seven seminar sessions, students develop advanced competencies in comprehensive health assessment, growth and developmental surveillance, anticipatory guidance, and preventive care. Through weekly clinical notes and logs, faculty site visits, and midterm/final evaluations, students will demonstrate their advanced skills in delivering culturally responsive care, ethical decision-making, and interdisciplinary collaboration for pediatric primary care population. Summative assessments include clinical case briefs, oral presentations, and a clinical application exercise designed to assess prescribing and anticipatory guidance and support time management skills. Active class participation reinforces professional communication and leadership. By the end of the course, students will integrate current pediatric guidelines, apply evidence-based management strategies, and advocate for children and families within complex healthcare systems.
