Catalog description

This introductory didactic course prepares Pediatric Primary Care NP students to promote and maintain the health and development of children and adolescents across diverse settings. Emphasis is placed on anticipatory guidance, developmental screening, health maintenance, and the integration of social determinants of health into care planning. Using formative assessments to build new knowledge, students will engage in practical applications through discussions and case-based learning. A final summative assessment involves simulation to ensure expected student learning outcomes are achieved. These learning outcomes aim to develop advanced clinical reasoning, advanced practice assessment and communication skills to support family-centered, equitable, and evidence-based care.
