Nursing Leadership Capstone

Catalog description
Students engage in field experiences and case-based coursework applying leadership skills gleaned from prerequisite courses to examine various organizational aspects within a healthcare system (i.e., organizational structure, job classifications, communication mechanisms). . As guided by course faculty , students assess organizational factors and propose approaches to improve processes and outcomes including financial analysis. Students utilize project management tools, design thinking principles, recommend strategies to engage stakeholders, and evaluate proposed organizational changes. Students also create learning objectives and activities aimed at furthering personal leadership development. This course requires that students complete at least 240 direct and indirect field hours.
