Family Nurse Practitioner: Clinical II
University of Pennsylvania · UGRD · Fall 2026
Catalog description
This second clinical practicum integrates immersive clinical experiences with seminar-based learning to advance students’ ability to deliver comprehensive primary care across the lifespan. Students apply theoretical knowledge in supervised settings, refining diagnostic reasoning, health promotion, and disease prevention strategies. Seminars provide collaborative, case-based learning where students present complex patient scenarios, develop differential diagnoses, and implement evidence-based management plans. Emphasis is placed on culturally responsive, person- and family-centered care, including affirming practices for transgender and nonbinary individuals. By the end of the course, students will strengthen their clinical judgment, interprofessional communication, and leadership skills through reflective dialogue and structured feedback to deliver equitable, high-quality care to diverse populations.
