This advanced pharmacology course is a core requirement for students preparing for advanced practice nursing roles and builds upon foundational pharmacology knowledge. It prepares students to safely and effectively manage pharmacologic therapies across the lifespan in both acute and primary care settings. Learning is facilitated through focused lectures, condition-based case analysis, and targeted pharmacotherapy modules that support person centered care, evidence-based practice, and population health. Emphasis is placed on understanding advanced principles of clinical pharmacology and therapeutics in the context of real-world disease management. By the end of the course, students will have the basic knowledge necessary to make informed, evidence-based pharmacologic decisions as advanced practice registered nurses.
