Catalog description
KORN 0620 is a continuation of KORN 0520 and the final course in the Korean for Heritage Speakers series. Building on the skills developed in KORN 0520 , this course focuses on advancing students' language proficiency to the Intermediate-High (speaking and writing) / Advanced-Low (listening and reading) level as defined by the ACTFL Guidelines. Emphasis is placed on enhancing students’ ability to communicate effectively in Korean with greater grammatical accuracy and socio-linguistic appropriateness in increasingly complex contexts, while fostering independent language learning outside the classroom. This course continues to strengthen all four language skills, with an emphasis on speaking and writing. Topics covered include contemporary lifestyle, traditional and contemporary aesthetics, regional culture, consumer culture, and diversity in Korean society.
