Catalog description

This course investigates and compares diverse cultures of climate storytelling in the twenty-first century, in scientific reports and communications as well as in short- and long-form narrative fiction, films, and social media. How best to communicate climate change is a thorny question, and we will consider various forms and how they work (or don’t) as humans’ fossil fuel consumption and greenhouse gas emissions continue to climb. We will also research and develop our personal climate stories and collaborate with university classrooms in England, Germany, and Sweden to swap stories and compare experiences.
