Catalog description

Technologies applied to education (EdTech) have a long history: from origins in radio and TV, through computers, laptops and the Internet, and most recently with the advent of AI. Each of these technologies was expected to revolutionize schooling, teaching and learning. In this course, we will consider the multiple roles that EdTech has played, and is playing today, across the globe, and especially in low-income settings. We will delve into applied research, use project-based learning, and develop ideas that can be used for planning the future use of digital technologies and AI in globally diverse contexts. We will have visiting experts join several class sessions.
