Catalog description

This course surveys education reform efforts in different countries to develop skills in policy analysis, reform design, implementation and appraisal. The seminar series will cover various approaches to design and implementation and the merits and challenges of different education reform strategies. There will be reform examples from Peru, Rwanda, Ghana, Vietnam, Estonia, Kazakhstan, USA, Singapore, Hong Kong, Qatar, Kyrgyzstan, England and Scotland. They all are K -12 school settings. In addition to developing students’ knowledge the seminars and assignments will try to help them further develop skills in thinking critically, arguing logically, writing succinctly and clearly, and working well with others.
