Catalog description

Children learning an additional language (AL) in immersion or instructional contexts are growing worldwide. Their language development has distinct characteristics while also sharing similarities with adult AL development. This course addresses major issues concerning children’s (learners up to age 12) AL development and explores their implications for teaching. The completion of EDUC 7225 (Second Language Development) or an equivalent course is a prerequisite.
