Catalog description

This course introduces mixed methods research by engaging students with the theory, history, and practice of this approach. The course aims to build students’ expertise about the design and implementation of studies that incorporate both qualitative and quantitative methods. Key aspects of mixed methods research will be emphasized, including theoretical framing, research questions, design and selection of methods, sampling, instrumentation and data collection, and analysis. Mixed Methods Research focuses on practical application of mixed methods; students will read and discuss published examples and will build skills in critical analysis of mixed methods research.
