Catalog description

The objective of the Freshmen Dental Occulsion course is to provide foundational knowledge regarding human occulsion and the temporomandibular joint. Dental occlusion relative to Operative dentistry procedures will be discussed. This knowledge will be called upon throughout all four years of the dental curriculum. This course includes lectures and laboratory sessions where waxing of teeth using only concepts related to dental occlusion, selective grinding to achieve an ideal occlusal relationship, alginate impressions and diagnostic model making, facebow transfer, and diagnostic model mounting procedures will be completed to reinforce didactic materials presented.
