This advanced-level course is designed for students interested in law, international relations, political science, and related social science fields who wish to develop professional Chinese language skills for global and policy-oriented contexts. The course focuses on building students’ ability to understand, discuss, and analyze legal, political, and international affairs topics in Chinese, while strengthening advanced listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills. Through readings, media materials, case discussions, and guided analysis, students will engage with topics such as legal institutions, governance, diplomacy, international organizations, global disputes, and cross-border cooperation involving China and the Chinese-speaking world. Emphasis is placed on key terminology, discourse conventions, and communicative strategies used in professional and policy settings.
