Catalog description

This course provides an integrated introduction to molecular biotechnology and biomolecular engineering, with emphasis on the design, analysis, and application of biological systems for research, medicine, and industry. Students will develop quantitative and practical skills in genetic engineering, protein engineering, metabolic engineering, and bioprocess design. The course combines fundamental principles with modern tools, including CRISPR-based genome editing, synthetic biology, and high-throughput screening. Guest lectures from industry professionals and academic leaders will provide real-world perspectives on technology development, regulatory considerations, and commercialization. Students will learn to translate molecular-level understanding into scalable biotechnological solutions.
