Catalog description

This course will explore the ethical challenges encountered in both the clinical care of and research with vulnerable populations. Populations of focus will include children, pregnant individuals, incarcerated people, elderly, those with rare diseases, among others. This course will provide the historical context of events that have shaped modern ethical dilemmas with a particular emphasis on trust in medicine. The aim of this course is for students to develop their own framework to address practical ethical dilemmas encountered in clinical and research contexts.
