Successful real estate projects are driven by a combination of market conditions and economics, legal and environmental due diligence, marketing, and finance. Finance for Designers examines the intersection of architectural design and financial decision-making, equipping students with the analytical tools needed to evaluate, justify, and refine design proposals within real-world economic constraints. Through the study of financial modeling and developing pro formas, students learn how design decisions influence project feasibility, risk, and long-term value. This course provides practical, analytical, and experiential insights on cash flow, valuation and return optimization, and the underwriting of income-producing commercial real estate from an acquisition perspective.
