Catalog description

The transition to clerkships course introduces students to the roles, responsibilities & expectations of a third-year medical student focusing on basic principles of clinical care required for all physicians. Sessions within this two-week course are geared to foster successful transition from preclinical to clinical training, building on the knowledge and clinical skills covered in Phase I. The course includes advanced clinical skills training through simulation as well as several fundamental medical principles from various specialties that will be expanded upon and reinforced in subsequent clerkships. In addition, resources available to learners while on clinical rotations are presented.
