Criminal Procedure: Applied Skills

A primary goal of this course is to provide students with practice-oriented writing assignments through which they will apply knowledge acquired in Criminal Procedure, Pretrial. Students will draft client correspondence, client interview questions, questions for direct examination, motions to suppress evidence, professional memoranda, and an appellate brief. In addition to honing students' communication skills, the course should reinforce and deepen students' knowledge of the substantive law of criminal procedure, both through work on written assignments and through assigned readings. This course satisfies the experiential learning requirement.
