In this course students will examine how innovation driven by emerging technologies is transforming the way we do business and disrupting well established industries. The driver for the current and imminent wave of disruption is the emergence of technological breakthroughs that can be leveraged by innovative entrepreneurs and forward-thinking companies. For this reason, this course places itself at the intersection between business and technology and aims at strengthening the students’ holistic understanding of the interplay between these two domains. Students will investigate the buzz surrounding some of the most hyped emerging technologies, and examine their promise and shortcomings as disruptive forces in a number of relevant industries.
