Media criticism considers the nature and forms of podcasts and film, their effects on audiences and society, and literacy appropriate to their understanding and use. Prerequisites: None. Computer Info Systems Program Core Courses - 30 Credits CS100 Introduction to Computer Information Systems - 3 credits This course provides students with an understanding of concepts and processes fundamental to Computer Information Systems (CIS). Topics will include CIS fundamentals; CIS organizational and business strategies; infrastructure, management, commerce and networking, security, privacy, and ethics. Students will also be introduced to Microsoft 365 Fundamentals in order to apply knowledge of CIS fundamentals to Microsoft 365 applications. Students will also prepare for optional Microsoft 365 Fundamentals Certification.Prerequisites: None. CS 101 Fundamentals of Information Technology - 3 credits This course provides students with an understanding of concepts and processes fundamental to Information Technology (IT). Topics will include IT fundamentals; IT organizational and business strategies; key terminology and concepts, business applications, privacy, and ethics. Students will also be introduced to Microsoft 365 Fundamentals in order to apply knowledge of IT fundamentals to Microsoft 365 applications. Students will also prepare for optional Microsoft 365 Fundamentals Certification. Prerequisites: None. CS 102 Microsoft IT Support - 3 credits This course prepares students for Microsoft 365 management and support. Students will understand key concepts, vocabulary, and processes as they relate to Microsoft 365 fundamentals. Students will identify business functions and workplace applications that are essential to providing robust Microsoft IT support across a wide range of industries.
