Catalog description

Training in hand crew formation, fire line construction, and the use of wildland equipment. Training in wildland firefighter safety, fire behavior, protective clothing, and wildland fire tools. This course includes arduous physical conditioning and outdoor activity and provides the required training to be hired as a seasonal Type 2 wildland firefighter for the U.S. Forest Service and may be applicable to other organizations such as BLM (Bureau of Land Management) and other federal, state and local hiring entities. Total of 108 hours lecture and 54 hours laboratory.
