Catalog description

This advanced-level course in CNC turning focuses on optimizing machining operations and applying quality control techniques to enhance part accuracy, improve tool life, and reduce production costs. Students will learn how to analyze CNC turning processes, identify inefficiencies, and implement optimization strategies to maximize performance. The course includes in-depth study and hands-on application of advanced CNC programming, troubleshooting, and quality control practices, including the use of precision measurement tools and software simulations. Key topics covered include tool wear analysis, surface finish quality, cycle time optimization, and troubleshooting common machining defects. Through practical projects and case studies, students will gain the skills necessary to ensure precision and quality in high-level CNC turning operations. Total 36 hours lecture and 54 hours laboratory.
