This course delves into Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), emphasizing its role in ensuring precision and clarity in engineering designs. Students will explore GD&T symbols, rules, and applications as defined by ASME Y14.5 standards, enhancing their ability to communicate design intent effectively. The curriculum covers form controls, datum systems, and tolerance types, fostering a comprehensive understanding of their impact on part functionality and manufacturability. By engaging with both theoretical concepts and practical applications, students are prepared to contribute to diverse industries, including aerospace, automotive, and manufacturing. Total of 18 hours lecture and 54 hours of laboratory.
