Catalog description

This course provides an introduction to fundamental metalworking skills using manual milling machines and lathes. Students will learn essential machining concepts, including machine setup, cutting tool selection, speeds and feeds calculation, blueprint reading, and precision measurement techniques. Emphasis is placed on industry safety standards, hands-on machining practices, and quality control procedures. Through lab exercises and project-based learning, students will develop the foundational skills necessary for entry-level machining positions and advanced manufacturing coursework. Total 36 hours lecture and 54 hours laboratory.
