Pasadena City College · UGRD · Fall 2026
Catalog description
This interdisciplinary course is designed primarily for secondary credit students to explore, interpret, and challenge the social and historical constructs of identity, race, class, ethnicity, gender, and sexuality. Students will critically examine how these constructs shape their own lives and their position in society. Through the study of the experiences of people of color, Ethnic Studies empowers learners to construct counter-narratives, engage in civic and political life, and develop a more nuanced understanding of the human experience. The course fosters respect for cultural diversity and highlights the benefits of inclusion. Total 36 to 100 hours lecture.
