Asian Pacific Islander Desi American (APIDA) experiences and contributions to United States history spanning the early pioneers to the 49ers through the Japanese American concentration camp experience and the post-1965 immigrants and refugees in an era of globalization. Emphasis on race, ethnic and language background, class, immigration status, gender, sexuality and interethnic and transnational relations. No credit if taken after HIST 071 or HIST 041.
