Advanced instruction and training in effective pronunciation of American English. Topics include details of stress, rhythm (connected speech), and intonation, as well as recognizing and producing complex features of vowels and consonants, within the context of advanced vocabulary and sentence structures. Designed for students at an intermediate to advanced level of ESL (noncredit levels 4, 5 and above). Total of 18-54 hours lecture.
